Grace Ann Spena, RN, MSN Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Grace Ann Spena leads campus health and wellness efforts at Montgomery County Community College
BLUE BELL, PA, April 6, 2010 /Nutrition PR News/ -- Grace Ann Spena, RN, MSN, Director of Health and Wellness Initiatives for Montgomery County Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare and education.
Grace Ann Spena is a recognized authority on healthcare management possessing nearly four decades of practiced experience, which she now lends to Montgomery County Community College as Director of Health and Wellness Initiatives. Now thriving in her 13th year at her current post, she manages health and wellness programs for Montgomery's campuses. Her primary responsibilities also include conducting presentations, coordinating health and wellness fairs, and supporting and advancing initiatives of the college through her collaboration with students, employees and faculty. In her recent interview with Cambridge Publishing, she noted that her greatest ambition for Montgomery College is to develop new and innovative ways to enhance both health and wellness throughout the community and in partnership with local healthcare providers.
"I think of academic and personal success as a triangle comprised of health, motivation and learning skills," shared Ms. Spena. "I enjoy coordinating health and wellness programs conducted on campus and I like educating through presentations," For such presentations, she has been recognized with a Distinguished Guest Speaker Award by Montgomery County Community College in 2006 and 2009. She credits her success earned to date to her nursing and leadership experience, as well as the excellent mentorship she has received.
Ms. Spena holds a diploma in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and both a bachelor and a master of science in nursing from Villanova University. She is certified in CPR, first aid and automatic external defibrillation. Her professional affiliations include the Nursing Alumni Association of Villanova University, the Nurses' Alumni Association of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the American College Health Association.
